The Chinese shopping app Pinduoduo was suspended by Google on its app store after malware was discovered in versions of the app from other sources.

We have suspended the app out of “security concerns” said Google in a official statement on Tuesday ,further it said that they are investigating the matter.

Geopolitical Reason
This action of google came after the US-China tension was heightened .Somedays ago United States also banned TikTok another chinese app in its country alleging that such apps could be used to spy on American Users.
Is this applicable for IOS users too?
Google has not confirmed whether similar security concerns exist for Apple users, and Pinduoduo was still available to download from Apple’s iOS store on Tuesday. Pinduoduo, which is a popular e-commerce app in China that often offers discounts if users team up to buy multiples of an item, was warned by Google on Tuesday to uninstall any Pinduoduo app not downloaded from its own Play store.
Google Play Protect enforcement has been all set to block installation attempts of these identified malicious apps, Google said in its statement. “Users that have malicious versions of the app downloaded from any third-party website and not from Google’s official play store on their devices are warned and prompted to uninstall the app.”

PDD Holdings Inc,the parent company which operates Pinduoduo has not commented on this matter yet.
Impact on Stock Exchange
Hong Kong traded shares in the company descended 14.2% on Tuesday.
